Arctic River Day Combo Program in Pello, Lapland

This unique Arctic family day programme combines lot of fun:
1.) Reindeer Farm Visit – Life by the River (1.5 h)
The day begins with a visit to a traditional reindeer farm by the river. Children can feed the reindeer and learn how herders live in rhythm with the seasons. The guide shares stories about the close connection between the Tornio River and reindeer – how the water and animals move in harmony.
2.) Ice Fishing Trip on the Frozen Tornio River (2 h)
A sleigh ride pulled by a snowmobile takes you to the middle of the frozen Tornio River, surrounded by silence and beauty. Your guide will teach you the basics of ice fishing, and by the campfire, you can enjoy hot juice and grilled sausages. You’ll also hear a story about the salmon resting beneath the ice, waiting for the spring currents.
3.) Snow Fun and the Warmth of Fire (1.5 h)
The day ends with play and movement – sledding, kicksledding, and snowy adventures. At the lean-to “laavu” shelter, enjoy warm juice and gingerbread by the fire’s glow. Finally, you can greet Naamisuvanto’s friendly horses – a perfect ending to your Arctic River day.

- The price does not include a pick-up. A separate pick-up service can be arranged from Pello for an additional fee with a local taxi company. Please contact us for a price estimate if pick-up is required.
